Bill Murray To Star as FDR

According toVulture, Bill Murray has officially signed on to star as Franklin D. Roosevelt in the new adaptation of the British radio playHyde Park On the Hudson.  It will be directed by Roger Michell (Morning Glory).

The film focuses on the semi-incestuous love affair between FDR and his distant cousin, Margaret Stuckley during the June 1939 weekend that the King and Queen of England visited the President at his New York cottage.

Bill Murray Picture

The film will begin production in July.

But what aboutGhostbusters 3? Murray has been apparently"reading"the script since the beginning of the year, but he has yet to let the studio know if he likes it.  Without Murray the sequel is a no-go.

It looks like it might be delayed even further with Murray taking on this new, more serious, role.

It's by far the riskiest project we've ever done, without question, but it is also the one closest to our hearts."

Rumors surrounding possible casting have been circulating for months. According toa Deadline article, Hank Azaria has become the frontrunner to play Moe and James Marsden may be the one who snags the part of Larry.

Interesting casting!  Apparently the Farrelly brothers will complete casting by the end of this week.

EXCLUSIVE: Interview with Zachary Gordon of Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules

Zachary Gordon is your average 13-year-old, but he has a really cool job! Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rulesis his current movie and it hits theaters nationwide tomorrow - March 25.

Reel Movie News had a chance to catch up with the young star during his press tour forDiary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules. We talked about everything from girls to his exciting trip to Serbia.

Greg Gets Bullied by Rodrick

Zachary stars as Greg Heffley in the film. This is his second time playing the main role in theDiary of a Wimpy Kidfranchise. This time, Greg has to deal with the crazy antics and bullying from his older brother Rodrick.  Rodrick (Devon Bostick) plays some pretty mean tricks on Greg.  Does Greg have what it takes to stand up for himself or will he forever be a wimpy kid?

So, what's Zachary's favorite part of being on a movie set?

"Probably the people and the amazing experiences you get to have."

He's also loves playing Greg because its such a challenge and he's not like the character at all in real life.

"I mean he’s manipulative and he really takes advantage of people and I’m nice and I have a lot of friends, so I would have to say it’s really fun trying to be Greg and give my best impression of him."

Check out the rest of the interview after the jump.

You have played the part of Greg Heffley in two movies pretty much back to back.   This one exactly one year later. What do you like most about playing Greg?

What I like most about playing Greg is probably how challenging it is for me because I’m really not like Greg in real life, I mean he’s manipulative and he really takes advantage of people and I’m nice and I have a lot of friends, so I would have to say it’s really fun trying to be Greg and give my best impression of him.

You get bullied a lot in this one by your brother Rodrick, played by Devon Bostick.  Have you had any experiences with bullies in real life?

Thankfully, I haven’t. I’m really fortunate, I haven’t been picked on at all in school. Really no one in my school gets picked on or called names, but I might have to say, when I was younger, my brothers used to bully me and stuff. I mean, we’re brother, right? My brother’s didn’t do as bad of things that Rodrick did to Greg in the movie, but what’s bad with Greg is that Greg really can’t defend himself, but now that I’ve gotten older, my brother really don’t torture me as much as they used to and I can defend myself.

What was your relationship with Devon Bostick (who plays Rodrick) like onset?

Devon really was like my brother offset. We had so much fun and especially when we were filming a scene in the movie when coach Malone chases Rodrick and Greg into a mall and it was really fun because in between takes, Devon didn’t really want to play hide and seek, but it was always my dream to play hide and seek in a huge store, so Devon played with me. He’s like my brother on and off screen.

You shot the movie in Vancouver.  What did you like most about Vancouver?

My favorite part of Vancouver was probably– we went to this place called Grouse Mountain and I went ziplining there. So crazy, I went twice.

Did you go to Whistler? That’s one of my favorite places.

No , it got to be the last week of filming, so we didn’t really get time to go up there, but hopefully if we do a Wimpy Kid 3, maybe we can stop by Whistler.

You have a bit of a crush in this movie– on Holly.  What kinds of things do you do in the movie to try and get her attention?  And do they work?

In the beginning of the movie, everybody comes back from the summer and Greg spots this new girl who he really loves and really has a crush on. Then Rodrick says if you really want to get to know her and dance with her, every hour they have a roller rink dance and she’ll have to say yes, but what happens is Rodrick tricks Greg and instead of having a slow song play, they have this rocker song and all the skaters who have been waiting till later on– all the kids get off the rink and all the really bad skaters get on. And Greg is really mad at Rodrick.

I was really embarrassed filming that scene because then my dad had to come and carry me out. I really don’t skate well, so I couldn’t make it to the end and my mom just screams out“Greg, don’t worry you’ll be okay, your father will rescue you!”

Well that’s really embarrassing!

I know right! Good thing that doesn’t happen to me in real life.

Did you learn anything from Greg about how to get girl’s attention?

Eventually, but I don’t know, maybe. Maybe the how to not get a girl. But I’m into that stuff yet, not till high school.

You have done a lot of voice overs.  How is that different to actually acting and how is it the same?

The difference with that is, with both you still have to act, but with voiceover you can just wake up in the morning and even just come in your pajamas. You don’t have to do hair and makeup and wardrobe, like you do in an on camera film. And a really big difference with that too is I love to see myself on screen, but the problem with voiceover is that you just see a character, but it’s cool to see your voice voicing over the character as well.

What’s your favorite part about working on a movie set?

Probably the people and the amazing experiences you get to have. It’s a once in a lifetime chance and I mean, it’s interesting because it’s also a lot work, you have to travel a lot and you have to study your lines and everything, but it’s a lot of fun and I give up a lot for it.

What’s next for you?

I’m in New York right now doing press.

What’s your favorite place you’ve been too now that you’ve gone all around the world?

I did a movie three years ago called The Brother’s Bloom and it was one of my first movie’s. I went to Serbia for that and it was amazing to see the lifestyle they had there and just the people. There’s so many homeless people there, unfortunately. It really makes me realize how fortunate I am.

Do you have any other movie roles in the near future?

Well I am in public school still, but there are some projects that I am in right now and I really can’t discuss them, but eventually when they become announced, I’ll be able to talk about them.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Ruleshits theater March 25.

Mars Needs Momsdid so poorly at the box office this weekend, Disney decided to scrap producer Robert Zemeckis' next project for the studio,Yellow Submarine.According toThe Hollywood Reporter, the high profile remake of the classic Beatles filmYellow Submarinehas been in the pipeline for a while, but hasn't really moved forward.

The film has been wracked with problems, including budget issues and a failed attempt to sit down with the Beatles heirs to discuss the project.

Beatles Yellow Submarine

Zemeckis produced the latest Disney flickMars Needs Moms, which cost the studio $150 million to make, it made a measly $6.9 million at the box office this weekend.

The plan forYellow Submarinewas apparently to use 16 Beatles songs into the film and use the cutting edge motion-capture technology that was used in Zemerckis' filmsBeowolf, Christmas Carole, andMars Needs Moms.

Apparently the technology isn't catching on as well as they had expected.  Most people describe the technology as"creepy"or"weird"and the results are reflective of that.

Who Should Replace Angelina Jolie In New Tomb Raider?

Since the announcement that GK Filmshas acquired the rightsto the Tomb Raider franchise, the web has been buzzing about who should replace Angelina Jolie in the title role that shot the actress further into super stardom.

Lara Croft: Tomb Raider Video Game

Many names have been floating around, including Ashley Greene and Megan Fox.

Click after the jump for our top picks.  Who do you think should be the new Lara Croft?

Actress Anne HathawayActress Jessica BielEmily Blunt Picture

Foxy Megan FoxTwilight Star Ashley GreeneSexy Mila Kunis

Anne Hathaway: Anne Hathaway is making her big transition into action films with her latest role as Selina Kyle/Catwoman.  Depending on how well she does in that role, she might be perfect for another high profile action role that will further expand her acting chops and create an even wider range of roles for her.  We would love to see the star in this kind of flick.

Jessica Biel:Jessica Biel can do action movies and she has the body to play the svelte and sexy Lara Croft.  Biel is a talented actress, but for some reason, she hasn't been able to lift herself into leading lady status.  Starring in a couple Tomb Raider movies might be her ticket into the big leagues.

Emily Blunt:We love Emily Blunt and would love to see her take on an action role.  She has a great sense of humor and can deliver sarcastic and edgy lines to a tee - See her performance in both The Devil Wears Prada and The Adjustment Bureau.  She hasn't taken on many action-packed roles and it would be interesting to see if she could take on the part.

Megan Fox:The Angeline Jolie look-a-like would be perfect in the role if filmmakers are looking to replicate Jolie.  She has proven she can act in action films with her starring role in Transformers and she has been a much sought-after actress in the past few years.  This may just be the role she needs to jolt her even further up the Hollywood ladder.

Ashley Greene:This might be the perfect film to get her far away from her Twilight vampire role and onto something completely new.  She has shown she has the action skills with her aggressive fight scenes in the Twilight Saga and she definitely has the right look.

Mila Kunis:The actress proved she can take on the badass lady with a vengeance with her role in Black Swan.  She would be a good fit for the role, but might be a little too tiny to play a strong, leading action star.  We would love to see more of Miss. Kunis though.

EXCLUSIVE: Billy Burke Talks Breaking Dawn, Red Riding Hood, and Working With K-Stew

While filming Breaking Dawn, the last installment of The Twilight Saga in Vancouver, Billy Burke took some time to speak with Reel Movie News about his upcoming filmRed Riding Hood, his currently in theaters movie,Drive Angry 3D, and of course,The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn.

Burke also asked that we put out a word for him to express his desire to work with Natalie Portman one day.

Check out the rest of the interview below.

Actor Billy Burke

Talk about your role in Red Riding Hood.

It’s a slightly, pun the metaphor, but off the path of the fairytale and I play Red Riding Hoods drunken, misguided father. It was one of the most beautiful sets I’ve ever been on. I kind of look like the drunken jolly green giant. {laughs}

Were you excited to work with Catherine Hardwicke again?

Absolutely. I love her to death, and I always have a special place in my heart for her. When she called me and pitched me the movie and the idea, I was all in. She created the Twilight world and she did an amazing job with that, and I figured if anyone could make a picture like this, it would be her.

People are comparing this movie to Twilight. Why do you think that is?

Here’s what my guess is. There is a love triangle. There’s a young girl and two gentlemen vying for her attention. That’s probably the biggest comparison. Other than that, there’s a wolf in it. {laughs} There’s sweeping shots across the mountains in the trailer and there were some in Twilight, so I think that’s what people are looking at.

How was it working with Amanda Seyfried?

Love her to death. She’s a lovely person, we got along great. We remain friends. She, myself and my wife are all still in contact and she’s a good chick. Extremely talented.

Talk about Drive Angry 3D.

I had way to much fun making that movie. I had a blast.

How is filming in 3D different than regular?

Not at all. For the actors, you would never know. The cameras look a bit different, but you’re not asked to do anything or perform a different way for the 3D effect.

How did you like filming the action scenes?

The first part of my career was a lot of action, so I was happy to get back into it. I did as much as I could. I had a stunt double, but I don’t believe they actually used him once. Amber Heard was down for all of her tricks in this movie too, she was a trooper. She got the shit beat out of her. She’s a chick bad-ass. I for one certainly would not want to fuck with her in a dark alley. {laughs}. She’s not tiny, she’s full on. We had a fight scene, and it was a lot - we had a lot of physical stuff to do and she was there for the entire thing. I think there was maybe one sequence where her double was used, but other than that she was there. I was way more exhausted than her. {laughs}

Any update you can give me on Breaking Dawn?

I’m here in Vancouver right now filming. The stache is here in all its glory. After this film, I’m not sure the stache in this form will ever return to my face. This has been a great gig for me. I don’t think that there’s any relief at all, if there were more books and more movies, I’d probably keep coming back. It’s a fun role to play and I love the peeps involved. As far as being sad, I don’t know if that’s going to happen. I’m certainly not going to be glad, though.

Fans are dying to know if the scene between Charlie and Bella after the wedding be kept in the movie?

I do have a scene with Kristen directly after the wedding, before they take off for the honeymoon.

How is your music going?

The first record is out there. In my spare time up here, I use it for writing and putting together what might be my second album.

Oscar Recap: The Hosts

This year's Oscar ceremony didn't have too many crazy moments.  In fact, a lot of people are saying it was quite boring.

Let's start with the hosts.  Overall, the ceremony was pretty similar to previous traditional ceremonies - nothing too out of the ordinary, even though the hosts were the youngest in Oscar history.

Anne Hathaway's Oscar Outfits #6

Many critics said co-host Anne Hathaway was trying to hard, but I actually liked her up on that stage.  It wasn't trying to hard, it was trying to compensate for her deadbeat co-host James Franco, who looked like he would rather be anywhere else.  Take some advice James, when you are hosting the biggest night in Hollywood alongside your peers, try to look a little interested.

The Hollywood Reporter even commented that"Franco seemed distant, uninterested and content to keep his Cheshire-cat-meets-smug smile on display throughout. This year, the Oscars hit a new low. Like it fell into a hole.”

And how many outfits did Anne Hathaway change into?  We lost count.  Here's some pics of them - hopefully we got them all.

Anne Hathaway was charming and naturally endearing as we expected her to be.  James Franco is another story.
Overall, we give these hosts a thumbs down, although it wasn't really Hathaway's fault.  With little material to work with (this year's producers weren't so hot either) and a deadbeat cohost, she was doomed from the start.
