Tron Dominates Bears, Lions and Mark Whalberg

As expected,Tron Legacyopened at #1 with $43.6 million, far short of what last year's long-awaited science fiction adventure,Avatar, brought right around the same time. While the opening isn't exactly stellar, Disney hopes that the numbers will gain steam over the holidays. Mediocre reviews might not help, but everyone is raving about the visual effects and the soundtrack, so that may be enough to get it where it needs to be.

Russell'sThe Fighterdid well in an expanded release, earning $12.2 million. The Touristonly managed to bring in $8.9 million, proving Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie aren't the only reasons people go to the movies.
